blizzarded in, and no wine to be found

oh well... so working on this week's photo assignment on Food - fruits and vegetables.

Snow-Free weekend

so much for a blizzard! we headed up to visit our friends and ski at hunter this past weekend... we saw friends, but didn't ski - i was not feeling it at all - too cold for my liking. yes, i know - skiing happens in winter, winter is cold.. but it was excessively cold for me - like in the single digits with wind.. i'm out. Instead, we headed over to Woodstock for lunch and to walk around, and en route, we took a drive by the place where my uncle had his motorcycle accident 7 years ago. the marker is no longer there - it's a bad turn, so it could have gotten hit, plowed over, removed b/c of road construction.. so in the spring, we'll replace it.

fun with photos and printing

started up a zenfolio account... so this way, my friends and family can order prints and download the pictures. i was looking at snapfish and shutterfly, but zenfolio is partnered with Mpix which has far superior photo printing quality (in my humble opinion)and most importantly, i can password protect and/or watermark :)

snowy thursday

it's a sad day, I have to ship the rental lenses back to their home. sigh. we have one more to try out before making the purchases. other than that, Sky and I are on the road back to being healthy for however long that will last... Dave has to work from home thanks to Route 23 being an absolute mess, and that's all folks!

Finally...

So, I've (we've) had this account for months and months, but never used it due to Facebook addiction. Soooo... here we are, starting this thing up.

I've decided to become a little more serious about my photo taking. Not so much as a business (just yet) but more to improve my skills so I can better capture what I see and how I want to see it. My muse, of course, is Skylar, so be very prepared to see her face all over this page.
Let's see... the latest in our world. renting camera lenses, bought a Canon 7D, Sky's recovering from another cold, happy the sun is shining and we got out of the house today... Found out yesterday via FB that Dave's aunt has ALS (lou gehrig's disease) and his cousins are doing a polar bear plunge in manasquan river on 2/13 for charity. won't be jumping in, but i want to go to show some support.
